The presiding judge is the Honorable W. Steven Shayer. Shayer is a graduate of the Pepperdine School of Law. Before his appointment to the bench, Shayer worked in private practice and handled legal matters relating to business, employment, and contractual disputes. Shayer has served as a judge for Shafter Superior Court since 2014.

Driving direction

The Kern County-Shafter Branch courthouse is located off of Central Valley Highway. Drive down the highway or down California Avenue. Once you turn into the complex, the court will be located on the west side.
