Here at Dispute, we want our users to value, appreciate, and benefit from the products they pay for. That’s why we’re committed to helping thousands of people file lawsuits to get their money back.

Dispute’s policy is to refund any unused purchased services when requested by you within 30 days of the purchase. We want to be transparent about when we will and will not issue refunds to help you and reduce fraud. Here is what unused means for each product:

Subscription for Dispute Platform Access

The Dispute platform requires a $10 monthly subscription fee to access. This fee purchases your ability to access our software to generate, sign, file, and track your various documents and services. It also provides you access to our software support team for any questions about utilizing the services. 

Refund Policy

  • Once you have paid the $10 to access the software, the amount is non-refundable. 

If you believe your card was fraudulently used to make a purchase, please contact us with details of the fraud, official reports from the credit card company, or police reports to inquire about a refund.

Demand Letters

Basic Demand Letter

A Basic Demand Letter can be purchased for $19 and consists of generating a demand letter using the software and having Dispute send it out via 2-day USPS priority mail.

Once the Dispute software is used to create a letter, the refund amount decreases. A letter that has been generated using the software but hasn’t been sent is eligible for a $10 partial refund. A letter that has been generated and sent is not eligible for a refund.

Refund Policy

  • $19 refund if purchased, but not generated and not mailed
  • $10 refund if purchased and generated but not mailed
  • No refund once it has been mailed

If you approve and send a letter, but it hasn’t yet been sent, we will do our best to stop it and issue a $10 refund. If the mailing room sends it out before we are able to stop it, we will not be able to issue a refund.

Custom Demand Letter

A Custom Demand Letter can be purchased for $49. A Basic Demand Letter can also be upgraded for $30.

A Custom Demand Letter comes with unlimited revision requests of the demand letter through your dashboard. This service is eligible for a $49 refund until a revision request has been made. Once the revision request has been made, the service is no longer refundable.

Refund Policy

  • $49 refund will be issued if no revision requests have been made
  • No refund will be issued once a revision request has been made and fulfilled

If you request a refund after making a revision request, but before we produce a revision, we will do our best to stop the request and issue you a refund. If the writer has already written the revision, we will not be able to issue a refund.

Small Claims Services

Small Claims Document

A Small Claims document can be purchased for $89.

A Small Claims document service consists of using Dispute’s software to generate, sign and notarize a small claims document for filing at a courthouse of your choice. It can be completely refunded if only purchased and not generated.

Once the Dispute software is used to generate a small claims document, the refund amount decreases. Once the document is signed, the refund amount decreases further. Once it’s been filed, there is no option for a refund.

Refund Policy

  • $89 refund will be issued if no court paperwork has been generated
  • $40 refund will be issued if court paperwork is generated but unsigned
  • $20 refund will be issued if court paperwork is generated and signed but not filed
  • No refund will be issued once court paperwork has been filed (regardless of acceptance)

For small claims filings, everyone does receive one free refile (unless you waive it). If your filing is rejected, you can make edits, re-sign, and re-file for free one time. A free refile only applies to the original paid case, and cannot be exchanged for a refund, credit, or applied to a different case.

Court Fees (Government Fees)

Court fees are charged by us (with a payment processing fee) and paid to the courthouse on your behalf. As a result, once we have paid the court fee to the court, we cannot issue you a refund.

Refund Policy

  • 100% refund of the fees will be issued if the court fee payment has not yet been accepted by the court (including for rejected cases).
  • No refund will be issued once the court has accepted the court fee payment.

If you request a refund after submitting your document for filing, but before we pay the court the fees, we will do our best to stop the request and issue you a refund. If the court has already received and accepted the fee payment, we will not be able to issue a refund.

Concierge Small Claims Package

Concierge Small Claims Package

A Concierge Service can be purchased for $299 and includes the:

  • Custom Demand Letter
  • Small Claims Document ****(with up to $100 of filing fees covered)
  • Ability to schedule 15-minute phone appointments for software support
  • 1 month of subscription platform access

Custom Demand Letter - Concierge Refund Policy

  • $49 refund if purchased as part of concierge, but not generated and not mailed
  • $25 refund if purchased as part of concierge and generated but not mailed
  • No refund once it has been mailed

If you approve and submit a letter for sending, but it hasn’t yet been sent, we will do our best to stop it and issue a $25 refund. If the mailing room sends it out before we are able to stop it, we will not be able to issue a refund.

Small Claims Document - Concierge Refund Policy

  • $200 refund will be issued if no court paperwork has been generated
  • $150 refund will be issued if court paperwork is generated but unsigned
  • $100 refund will be issued if court paperwork is generated and signed but not filed
  • No refund will be issued once court paperwork has been filed (regardless of acceptance)

If you request a refund after submitting your document for filing, but before we pay the court the fees, we will do our best to stop the request and issue you a refund. If the court has already received the fees, we will not be able to issue a refund.

Concierge Technology Support and Subscription Costs

The Concierge Phone Support and platform access subscription costs are not refundable as a portion of the unused service unless the entirety of the Concierge package has been unused and is eligible for a refund.

Defendant Service

Note this service is only available for purchase in some markets.

Defendant Service can be purchased for $85 (for the first round of service) and $85 (for all additional rounds of service on a single case).

A Defendant Service purchase consists of Dispute hiring a process server to make four attempts to serve your small claims petition to the other party at one specific address. The attempts will be made across multiple days at varying times of the day over the course of 2-3 weeks.

Once a process server has been hired to complete, no refund is eligible on this purchase.

Refund Policy

  • $85 refund will be issued if the purchase was made, but no process server has been hired
  • No refund will be issued if a process server has been hired for your case (even if attempts have not been made)

If you request a refund after purchasing the defendant’s service but before hiring a process server, we will do our best to cancel the purchase. If the process server has already been hired, we will not be able to issue a refund.

Mechanics Lien:

The Mechanics Lien documents can be purchased for $39. This will give you access to out software which will help you fill out, generate and sign a lien to file at your local courthouse.

Refund Policy

  • $39 refund will be issued if the purchase was made, but the document has not been generated
  • $20 refund will be issued if the purchase was made and the document was generated but not signed
  • No refund will be issued for any signed documents

Arbitration Filing:

The Arbitration documents are currently free to fill out. But it costs $39 to sign, notarize and download them with help of the Dispute platform.

Refund Policy

  • Once paid, there are no refunds for partially rendered, or signed arbitration documents.
