Judge info

The small claims judge in at the San Mateo courthouse is Commissioner Lauren Zorfas. Hon. Zorfas was elected to the Superior Court of California in 2020. She is a graduate of San Francisco Law School. Prior to her election, Zorfas had achieved a lengthy career in family and public interest law.

The best way to reach the courthouse through public transit is by Caltrain or SamTrans. The Redwood City Caltrain/Samtrans station is located a 6 minute walk away from the Hall of Justice. Upon arriving at the Redwood City Station, continue walking North down either Hamilton or Marshall street, until arriving at the Hall of Justice. Transit options that connect with Caltrain include BART.

Driving direction

The small claims division is housed in San Mateo Courthouse’s Southern Branch, the Hall of Justice & Records. The Hall of Justice & Records is an eight-floored building located in the middle of downtown Redwood City. After entering the Hall, remain on the first floor after passing security and you will be directed to Room A. Please note that small courts office is currently closed during COVID.
